The Automation Technician is responsible for the physical assembly, wiring, troubleshooting, and testing of electrical control panels in the panel fabrication facility. Install electrical control panel assemblies, instrumentation, and other devices, perform wire terminations, troubleshooting and testing of system components.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Control panel fabrication, wiring, terminations.
- Create and Edit Electrical Drawings using AutoCAD Electric.
- Read and interpret schematics and electrical diagrams.
- Onsite equipment installation, equipment configuration and wire terminations as needed.
- Must be able to use hand tools to drill, tap, cut, and assemble and install electrical panel components.
- Possess’ a working understanding of electrical assembly and a mechanical aptitude.
- Must be highly motivated, detail oriented and able to work independently as well as in a team environment.
- Neatness and quality workmanship is an absolute MUST.
- He/She will define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- This individual will interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
- He/She will carry out duties in compliance with all state and federal regulations as well as maintain compliance with all company and site policies and procedures.
- Accomplishes organization’s mission by completing related and other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- An Associate’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, or related Discipline along with related work experience.
Experience:
- Read, analyze, and interpret, technical procedures communicate effectively verbally and written with vendors, and team members.
- Demonstrate competency in computerized systems.
- Experience with AutoCAD, Rockwell Automation, GE and/or Siemens software and hardware is preferred, but not required.
- Performs a variety of duties and to change tasks without loss of production is required.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products to include Teams, Planner, Word, and Excel software.
- The ability to use computer-based software tools.
- The ability to work independently and in a team environment is required.
- The ability to foster teamwork to achieve objectives while working cross-functionally is required.
Location:
- Position located in Berwick, PA.
- This position may require same-day travel to customer facilities, primarily within a 4-hour radius of our Berwick, PA office. Occasional overnight travel may also be necessary, up to approximately 20% of the time, depending on project needs and customer schedules.
